Understanding the Past to Build the Future
Economic Summit Organized by NCSML in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
AFoCR is one of the co-organizers of the Economic Summit held on May 2 and 3, 2024 in the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library (NCSML) in Cedar Rapids, IA.
We are pleased to support this important initiative, one of the events commemorating the 50th anniversary of NCSML, a Smithsonian Affiliate.
Although the anniversary will be recognized and celebrated all year long, some of the key events will be held from May 2 to May 4, 2024, including the Economic Summit, performance by renowned Czech Opera vocalist Ester Pavlu, two exhibit openings and a gala. These special events will provide a unique opportunity for community members to attend alongside national and international visitors to Cedar Rapids.
The key note speaker at the Economic Summit is Professor Jan Svejnar, AFoCR’s advisor. Mr. Svejnar delivered our Freedom Lecture in 2017.
