Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomas Petricek Names Three Americans to Receive Medals of Merit in Diplomacy
Miloslav Rechcígl, Jr., George Drost, and Edward Joseph Dellin will receive the honors
On November 19, 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomas Petricek named Miloslav Rechcígl, Jr., George Drost, and Edward Joseph Dellin as the recipients of this year’s Medals of Merit in Diplomacy.
Miloslav Rechcígl, Jr., is receiving this great honor for his lifetime contribution to the advancement of Czech-American relations. George Drost is being recognized due to his considerable impact on the expansion of Czech-American cultural and business relations and for spreading the good name of the Czech Republic throughout the world. Edward Joseph Dellin is receiving the prestigious award for his significant and longstanding achievements in the development of international relations between the Czech Republic and the United States of America.
Due to travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the recipients are unable to travel to the Czech Republic to receive the medals in person as traditionally done by Minister Petricek at the Czernin Palace, the seat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Hence, the medals will be presented in the United States in the near future.
