American Friends of the Czech Republic Statement on the Detainment and Denial of Due Process for Paul Rusesabagina.

Washington, D.C. (March 8, 2021) - The American Friends of the Czech Republic today issued the following statement from President Tom Dine calling for the release of board advisor and human rights advocate Paul Rusesabagina:

“Our board adviser and dear friend, Paul Rusesabagina, is still being held in a Rwanda prison in defiance of commonly accepted rules of law such as attorney-client privilege and due process, and accepted processes of international jurisprudence. No fair trial is in the offering. Under these circumstances, the American Friends of the Czech Republic calls for the immediate release of Paul from his current captivity. The world is watching as Rwanda and its leaders ruin their reputation.”
