Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala Visits Washington D.C.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala visited the nation’s capital and met with President Joe Biden

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala flew to the United States of America for a two-day working trip. He accepted the invitation of the US President to visit the White House and to meet Czech compatriots. In addition, Prime Minister Fiala gave a speech at the Hudson Institute and visited the United States Congress.

On Monday, April 15, the Prime Minister met with President Biden in the White House, the first high level visit of a Czech politician to the Oval Office since 2019.

On his second day in the USA, Prime Minister Fiala gave a lecture at the Hudson Institute and afterwards he held a series of meetings with US Congressional leadership. Link to the Hudson Institute meeting.

Mr. Fiala also paid tribute to Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk by participating in a ceremonial at the Masaryk statue in downtown Washington. Masaryk’s statue was erected under AFoCR’s leadership and our organization is in charge of maintaing this important landmark.
