Mr. Kodat is founder and Principal of the Kodat Group LLC, a financial and strategic consulting company located in Northern Virginia. In recent years, he has led more than a dozen consulting projects focusing on federal agency strategic planning and transformation for the National Academy of Public Administration, a congressionally-chartered think tank in Washington, DC. His financial experience includes 20 years of international commercial and investment banking at JPMorganChase and its predecessor banks, focusing on Central and Eastern Europe. During 1991-1999, living in Prague with his family, Mr. Kodat was Advisor to the Chairman of the largest Czechoslovak bank, Komerční Banka, 1991-1993 as part of a US Department of the Treasury’s technical assistance program for former socialist countries; he also served as Chase Manhattan Bank’s Senior Country Officer for Czech and Slovakia for six years. In the 1980s, he managed Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company’s portfolio in the entire former Soviet bloc. After his stint in Prague, President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Kodat to serve as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Treasury responsible for Federal Financial Policy; he held this office until 2007. Mr. Kodat holds a BS in Education from Northwestern University and both an MBA in Finance and MA in Political Science from Indiana University. He speaks Czech and also serves on the Board of the Friends of Slovakia.
