He earned an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and continued in post graduate studies at the National Academy. He considers himself a painter but also frequently works with mixed media and printmaking. Inspired by Expressionism and figurative art, he explores his own approach to the meaning and representation of the human body. Artist Statement: Through the visual languages of painting and drawing I translate emotions and thoughts about life and human beings. Particularly I focus on two sides of this subject. One is more intimate, fragile, hidden from outside world, and questions existentiality and solitude. The second is about the general appearance of humans, specifically strong and powerful leaders. There are no judgments in my artwork, only observations and a hunger to understand a “humanitas”.
